Energy, Brandolini (Utilitalia): "Networks and innovation to drive green transition"

Rome, July 3 – (Adnkronos) – “Utilities operate on a broad spectrum of energy activities: from the management of traditional networks to investments in renewables, hydrogen and CO2 capture”. This is what Filippo Brandolini, president of Utilitalia, said during the General Assembly, organized in Rome on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Federation, to reflect on the evolution of public services in the last ten years and on the main future challenges.
"When we talk about energy - he underlined - it is essential to think not only about renewable production or the electrification of consumption, but also about the adaptation of electricity and gas distribution networks, which represent the backbone of the transition. Our utilities have planned 19 billion in investments for the next 5 years, of which over 7 billion are earmarked for electricity, district heating and gas distribution networks".
Brandolini then recalled how gas infrastructures also have a strategic role in decarbonization: "Gas distribution networks are essential for those users who will not be able to electrify consumption in the short term. Maintaining and innovating these networks means making significant investments".
