Hurricane Erin intensifies over the Atlantic: Satellite captures storm lightning

Satellite images have recorded lightning strikes within Hurricane Erin, which reached Category 2 strength in the Atlantic on Friday. The cyclone is located about 400 km northeast of Anguilla with winds of up to 160 km/h. According to the National Hurricane Center, Erin could rapidly intensify between Saturday and Sunday, developing into a major hurricane.
