Due to heavy rains in the last few hours, shortly after 10:00 a.m., the Seveso River flooded near Niguarda, Milan. Over 200 millimeters of rain have already fallen across the entire river basin, prompting the Senago flood control basin to be activated.
"Unfortunately, the reservoir is overflowing and has been flooding since 10-10:15 a.m. in Niguarda, in the Pratocentenaro neighborhood," Milan City Councilor for Civil Protection, Marco Granelli, reported on social media. He also reported "the upper Lambro River is also flooded, and Via Vittorini, protected by the mobile flood barriers installed at 6 a.m. this morning."
