Microplastics even in..., the most delicate. By (*) May

A group of Spanish scientists has confirmed the presence of microplastics—particularly polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), but also polystyrene (PS), polyurethane (PU), and polyethylene terephthalate (PET), among others—in 69% of female follicular fluid samples and 55% of male seminal fluid samples. Previous studies have revealed the presence of microplastics inside various human organs, but this is the first time their presence has been confirmed in the fluids of the human reproductive system, raising concerns about potential risks to fertility and reproductive health.
