Last week I attended a conference (against my principles, I know ) and participated unpaid in a panel discussion about energy poverty. The panel also included a city council member, someone from an energy company, and a researcher. And, as has happened to me more often lately, I was billed as an opinion leader. On a scale of one to ten, I don't think you could irritate me anymore.
Not that I look down on opinion leaders; I also enjoy a sharp (radio) column or a poignant piece in the newspaper. But it's their job: they can be booked through agencies, appear on talk shows, and can form opinions on just about any topic.
