PODCAST The Gelderland choice for power grid above factory

The province of Gelderland sees the closure of the De Hoop paper factory – two years ago now – as an opportunity to help the other companies in Eerbeek. The paper factory had a connection to the 150 kV grid of TenneT, with a contracted capacity of 18.5 MW. “This is not being used now, while a power supply of 100 MW is being sought for the entire province,” the province said in a statement. The Provincial Council also prefers this over a new factory at that location. Editor Joep Westerveld tells us more about it.
In the news overview, presenter Ilse Akkermans and editor-in-chief Wouter Hylkema discuss the SDE++ subsidy, about which Minister Sophie Hermans (Climate and Green Growth, VVD) released news this week. Firstly, that foreign storage of CO₂ captured in the Netherlands will be subsidized against the wishes of the House of Representatives, and in addition , a lot will change for – in particular – solar park operators . The impending postponement of the CO₂ storage project Aramis is also discussed.
