R.Power and Photon Energy have signed an agreement. "This is the foundation of our strategy across Europe."

R.Power announced that it has signed an agreement with Photon Energy for the optimization of a hybrid photovoltaic and energy storage system located in Nehrybka (Podkarpackie Voivodeship).

Under this contract , Photon Energy will be responsible for optimizing energy flows within the installation and between the installation and the grid . The company will assume the role of the entity responsible for balancing and the provider of balancing services, thus enabling the project to participate in various energy market segments, including the spot market and the balancing services market.

Katarzyna Suchcicka, Vice President of the Management Board of R.Power , quoted in the press release, comments that the system in Nehrybka is another example of R. Power's transformation from a developer of PV projects into a new-generation integrated energy company.

"Our goal is to develop solutions that strengthen the resilience and flexibility of the power system while supporting the further development of renewable energy sources. Integrating PV with storage is not only a response to changing market needs , but also the foundation of our strategy across Europe," says Katarzyna Suchcicka.

Benefits not only for asset owners but also for the entire system

It was noted that thanks to automation and advanced predictive systems , the project will be able to dynamically adapt its energy management strategy to market conditions – charging the storage facility both from PV and the grid, and then participating in the energy market with the most efficient use of available resources.

Energy can be stored during periods of peak production and then fed back into the grid when production drops . Because these systems are powered by renewable sources, they truly support the acceleration of the energy transition towards low-emissions," said Georg Hotar , CEO of Photon Energy Group, as quoted in the press release.

R.Power is an independent power producer (IPP) and renewable energy project developer specializing in large-scale PV and energy storage projects.

The company announced that it is developing a portfolio of projects with a total capacity of 32 GW, of which 17.5 GW concerns energy storage systems (BESS - Battery Energy Storage System).
