2025 YEKA Competitions in November and December: 2,000 MW Solar and Wind Capacity

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced at the Turkish Wind Energy Congress that the 2025 YEKA competitions will be held in November and December , with a total capacity allocation of 2,000 MW . The competitions will guide Turkey's new investments in solar and wind energy.
- 🌞 YEKA Solar Power Plant competitions : 850 MW capacity, 9 regions (Elazığ, Kahramanmaraş, Erzurum, Bolu, Eskişehir, Mardin, Van)
- 🌬️ YEKA RES competitions : 1,150 MW capacity, 6 regions (Sivas, Balıkesir, Aydın, Denizli, Kütahya)
- 🌊 First floating YEKA solar power plant : 35 MW in Manisa Demirköprü HEPP reservoir
- 💶 Price ceiling: 5.5 Euro-cents/kWh
- 💶 Base price: 3.25 Eurocents/kWh for solar power plants , 3.5 Eurocents/kWh for wind power plants
- 📉 Competitions will be held by open auction method
- 🏗️ 20-year purchase guarantee and locality requirement will be valid
YEKA Solar Power Plant competitions will be held in nine different regions, with project capacities ranging from 40 MW to 260 MW . Provinces in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia are particularly prominent.
The YEKA RES competitions will be held in the provinces of Sivas, Balıkesir, Aydın, Denizli, and Kütahya . Capacities will range from 110 MW to 500 MW.
A tender for the floating solar power plant (YEKA) will be held for the first time in Turkey. The 35 MW project will be implemented on the Demirköprü HEPP reservoir in Manisa . This step will pave the way for the widespread use of floating solar technology in Turkey.
The projects will be guaranteed purchase for 20 years . The ceiling price for the competitions will be 5.5 eurocents/kWh, while the floor prices will be 3.25 eurocents/kWh for solar and 3.5 eurocents/kWh for wind. Once the floor price is reached, the competitions will continue with a contribution increase of at least €10,000 per MW .
Turkey is opening the door to 2,000 MW of new solar and wind energy capacity with the 2025 YEKA competitions . With both domestic production requirements and a 20-year guarantee , these competitions are expected to increase investor interest and signal a new era in Turkey's clean energy transition.
