A New Window in Energy with Kuwait

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's Gulf tour is also opening the door to new collaborations in the energy sector. A framework agreement on energy was signed with Kuwait, the first stop on the program. Between GovernmentsThe "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Energy between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the State of Kuwait" was signed in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Emir of Kuwait Mishaal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, who accompanied President Erdoğan on the tour covering Kuwait, Qatar and Oman, signed the agreement with Kuwaiti Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Minister Subaih Abdulaziz Al Mukhaizeem.
Will Move Relations ForwardMinister Bayraktar, in a statement on social media regarding the agreement, said, “We are accompanying our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on his three-day visits to Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman. In Kuwait, the first stop of the visit, we participated in the inter-delegation meetings held by our President with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah. Following the meeting, in the presence of the leaders, we signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Energy Cooperation between Turkey and Kuwait with Mr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy of Kuwait. With this agreement, we aim to develop joint projects in the electricity, energy efficiency, and renewable energy sectors and to mutually share experiences. I wish this step, which will further advance our relations in the energy sector, to be beneficial.”
Will Create a FrameThe agreement, which will establish a framework in the field of energy between the two countries, will evaluate cooperation opportunities in the fields of training, consultancy and engineering services.
Collaboration will be madeDevelopment efforts will be undertaken, including joint projects in the electricity, energy efficiency, and renewable energy sectors. Collaboration will be undertaken on projects in these areas, and knowledge and experience will be shared.
