Agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed between Syria and Saudi Arabia in the field of energy.

It was reported that numerous memorandums of understanding were signed between the Syrian Ministry of Energy and Saudi Arabian companies, covering electricity, oil and natural gas.
According to Syria's official news agency SANA, the agreements and memorandums of understanding cover many technical areas such as electricity generation, installation of transmission and distribution stations, geophysical and geological studies, oil field services, well drilling and maintenance.
It was agreed between the parties to cooperate on integrated solutions for technical training, development of the local workforce, and modern management and development of oil and natural gas fields.
Syrian Energy Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Suleiman told Anadolu Agency (AA) that an agreement was signed with Saudi Arabia-based ACWA Power in the field of water and renewable energy.
Suleyman stated that this agreement will form the basis of new partnerships with Saudi Arabia.
Süleyman stated that renewable energy projects with a capacity of approximately 2.5 gigawatts are being planned, and that these projects will be in the field of wind and solar energy.
Emphasizing that the projects will entirely serve the Syrian people, Suleyman stated that new projects in areas such as energy, oil, and mining are planned to be implemented within two to three years.
Süleyman said that technical teams will begin working on the site within a short time within the scope of the signed agreement, and that construction areas for wind and solar power plants will be determined.
