Transformers Warn Against Fraud This Time

UEDAŞ has added a new public awareness project to its portfolio, painting fraud warnings on transformers. The project was implemented in collaboration with the Bursa Provincial Police Department.
UEDAŞ, which provides electricity distribution services to more than 5 million people in Southern Marmara, continues to contribute to society through social responsibility projects. Launched in 2017 and a pioneer in its sector, the "Transformers Speak" project has raised awareness on a wide range of issues, from organ donations and seat belts to violence against women and blood donations.
As part of the project, the message "Don't fall for the scammers who call you!" was graffitied on the transformer station on Nene Hatun Street in Bursa.
Bursa Provincial Police Chief Dr. Sabit Akın Zaimoğlu also participated in the event . UEDAŞ General Manager Cihangir Gençoğlu stated, “To date, we have painted 74 of our transformers with graffiti to raise public awareness. We implemented this project in collaboration with our Provincial Directorate of Security and Public Order. Our transformers are located in locations where many people pass by throughout the day. We aim to raise awareness on this issue. We thank all our stakeholders.”
Bursa Provincial Deputy Police Chief Suvat Sezer , noting the rise in fraud cases in Bursa, said, “As the Bursa Police Department, we rank first in Turkey in crimes against property. Of the 3,500 crimes against property committed in our city, approximately 2,500 are frauds. This is a very high rate, and the majority are committed over the phone. We constantly warn our citizens about this. Police or prosecutors never demand money from anyone. Today, we have reiterated this warning. We thank UEDAŞ for its contribution in this matter.”
