Erdemir will meet its electricity needs from the sun

Energy Diary - Erdemir will meet its electricity needs from the sun. To this end, it will build the 85 MW Erdemir Van Solar Power Plant (SPP) in the Çaldıran district of Van.

Ereğli Iron and Steel Factories Inc. is planning to build another solar power plant in Van. The company, which has a solar energy project in Van's Erdemir district, now plans to build the 85 MW Erdemir Van Solar Power Plant (SPP) on a 113.41-hectare site within the Kuskunkıran neighborhood of Çaldıran district.

Within the scope of the project worth 2 billion 800 million lira, 185 thousand 600 panels with 625 Wp panel power and 243 inverters with 350 kWe power will be installed.

Direct current electricity generated by monocrystalline half-cut photovoltaic modules at the solar power plant will be converted into alternative energy using inverters. The plant will generate a total of 200,000,000 kWh/year of electricity.

The project is expected to complete construction and enter the operational phase in approximately 15 months. The project's operational life is anticipated to be 30 years.

The electricity produced at the power plant will be offset against the company's electricity consumption within the scope of the first paragraph of Article 5 of the Unlicensed Electricity Production Regulation in the Electricity Market.
