According to initial reports, the fire broke out in a forested area in the Güvercinlik neighborhood, caused by a transformer.

Upon notification, 5 helicopters, 2 planes, numerous water trucks and water tankers from the Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry, and fire trucks belonging to the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality were dispatched to the region.

It was reported that 5 hectares of forest were damaged in the fire and cooling efforts were continuing in the region.
