ThorAtom and NAAREA Join Forces
ThorAtom , Turkey’s first and only 4th generation nuclear power plant developer, has signed a strategic partnership with France-based NAAREA . The agreement aims to jointly develop and disseminate molten salt reactor technology . This collaboration stands out as an important step towards providing clean, reliable and sustainable nuclear energy solutions .
The goodwill protocol between the two companies was signed within the scope of the 11th Nuclear Power Plants Summit (NPPES) organized in Istanbul by the Ankara Chamber of Industry and the Nuclear Industry Association with the support of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources .
FİGES and ThorAtom Board Chairman Dr. Tarık Öğüt and NAAREA CEO Jean-Luc Alexandre attended the signing ceremony.
Dr. Tarık Öğüt made the following statement regarding the collaboration:
“We aim to produce molten salt reactors operating with small modular systems (SMR) for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region . These systems will provide uninterrupted energy in a wide range of areas from electricity generation to thermal energy. At the same time, we will contribute to the spread of nuclear technologies .”
NAAREA CEO Jean-Luc Alexandre made the following statement:
“We are very pleased to collaborate with ThorAtom , Turkey’s talented nuclear technology company. With the solutions we will jointly develop, we will implement the implementation of next-generation nuclear technologies such as molten salt fuels with concrete steps.”
NPPES, which paves the way for international collaborations in the nuclear energy sector, hosted strategic developments in the field of energy this year as well.
