Türkiye's installed electricity capacity exceeded 120,000 megawatts

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources reported that the installed electricity capacity in Türkiye exceeded 120,000 megawatts as of the end of July.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, while the increase in installed electricity capacity continues, the share of renewable energy in installed capacity has also increased.
As of the end of July, installed electricity capacity reached 120,163 megawatts. Renewable energy accounted for 73,477 megawatts, corresponding to 61.1 percent of the total installed electricity capacity.
The share of hydro in the installed renewable energy capacity was recorded as 26.9 percent with 32,289 megawatts, the share of solar as 19.5 percent with 23,423 megawatts, and the share of wind as 11.4 percent with 13,695 megawatts.
Biomass reached a share of 1.9 percent with 2,337 megawatts, while geothermal reached a share of 1.4 percent with 1,734 megawatts.
The total share of solar and wind reached 30.9 percent
As of the end of July, the total installed capacity of wind and solar energy reached 37,118 megawatts, while the total share of these two sources in the installed capacity was 30.9 percent.
During the same period, domestic resources accounted for 70.7 percent of total installed capacity. Of this total, 84,959 megawatts came from domestic resources.
