Türkiye's installed electricity capacity surpassed 120,000 megawatts by the end of July, 61.1 percent of which came from renewable energy. This total reached 120,163 megawatts, 73,477 megawatts of which came from renewable energy.

THE RISE OF RENEWABLES

Hydropower accounted for the largest share of renewable energy with 32,289 megawatts. Solar energy accounted for 19.5 percent with 23,423 megawatts, and wind energy accounted for 11.4 percent with 13,695 megawatts.

The share of biomass in installed capacity was recorded as 2,337 megawatts (1.9 percent), while the share of geothermal was recorded as 1,734 megawatts (1.4 percent).

The total installed capacity of wind and solar energy reached 37,118 megawatts. These two sources accounted for a combined 30.9 percent of the total.

As of the end of July, 84,959 megawatts of total installed capacity came from domestic sources, bringing the share of domestic resources to 70.7 percent.
