ČEZ Distribuce starts accepting applications for standalone energy storage connections

Starting Friday, 19 September, ČEZ Distribuce, the largest Czech electricity distributor, will accept applications for connecting standalone energy storage systems via its online distribution portal, the company stated.
From 1 October, the LEX OZE III law will take effect, recognising energy storage as a distinct business activity and allowing direct grid connection of battery systems without simultaneous electricity generation. These systems can provide power balancing, stabilise grid fluctuations, and trade stored energy. The new rules support large-capacity batteries and standalone storage.

For potential applicants, energy experts organised a webinar in advance, where participants were guided through the submission process, received information on evaluation, learned how to request modifications to existing projects and had their questions answered. Over 700 participants attended the webinar, primarily from implementation companies and potential investors. Further information is available at the company’s energy storage homepage.
