Malwa-Nimar records peak power demand of over 5,000 MW on Dhanteras


Consuming approximately 1.07 crore units, Indore city topped the state, followed by around 80 lakh units in Bhopal, 55 lakh units in Jabalpur and about 30 lakh units in Gwalior.
The total consumption for the single day reached a record high of over 9 crore units across homes, agricultural fields, markets, and industrial areas in the Malwa-Nimar region. Indore district alone accounted for the highest consumption, utilising nearly 1.75 crore units. Other major consumers included Dhar, Khargone and Ujjain, with consumption ranging from 80 lakh to 1.1 crore units on Dhanteras.Discom is expecting similar demand on Diwali too.
