UK allocates GBP 2bn to lower electricity bills

From 2027, electricity will be cheaper for energy-intensive businesses in the UK. With its new industrial strategy, the UK government wants to cut electricity costs by up to a quarter – or up to GBP 40/MWh. This will be achieved by removing them from a range of taxes such as feed-in tariffs, capacity payments and green certificates.
