Profit slump at energy group Uniper

Uniper, the nationalized energy company in Germany, earned significantly less in the first nine months of 2025 than a year earlier. Uniper expects an adjusted profit of €268 million for the period, compared to €1.3 billion in the same period last year, the company announced on Friday. Uniper confirmed its earnings outlook for 2025.
The gas company announced the elimination of 400 positions following a slump in profits in the summer. Germany nationalized Uniper in 2022, thus saving it from bankruptcy, which had been threatened by Russia's gas supply cut.
