Solar Solutions: Trade fair in Düsseldorf goes on the heat offensive

This year's Solar Solutions in Düsseldorf will not only focus on photovoltaics and storage. The trade fair, taking place on December 3 and 4, 2025, will also focus on sector coupling with the "Electric Heating Initiative – with Photovoltaics and Infrared," thus placing the spotlight on new business areas for solar installers.

Under the motto "As Simple as Light – Planning and Installing Electric Heat," visitors to the trade fair will learn about existing solutions for using solar power for heating in a specially designed activity area in Hall 13. However, the focus here is not just on heat pumps. Rather, the main focus is on direct electric heat supply. Cables instead of pipes offer electricians an additional business area. The specialist program offers practical presentations on technology, planning, and installation, a wide variety of exhibits, reference projects in new and existing buildings, and opportunities to interact with industry experts.

More sales for electrical planners and tradesmen

The aim of the initiative is to show photovoltaic installers and electrical contractors how solar-electric heating can unlock new revenue potential. Finally, infrared heating and electric heating elements, including intelligent controls, combined with photovoltaics and battery storage, offer additional opportunities for homeowners.

Electric heating suppliers act as electricity sinks, improving opportunities for self-consumption of solar energy and making the flexible use of dynamic electricity tariffs attractive. "With infrared heaters, photovoltaic installers can offer their customers a complete, affordable electricity and heating solution," emphasizes Lars Keussen, Chairman of IG Infrarot Deutschland. "The devices can be easily connected to existing power lines – almost as easily as lighting. This lowers the barrier to entry and opens up new business opportunities in the growing electric heating market."
