Solar Solutions: Heat offensive reveals new business opportunity for installers

Under the motto "As easy as light – planning and installing electric heating," a heating initiative will be launched for the first time at the Solar Solutions Düsseldorf 2025 trade fair. On December 3rd and 4th (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), the focus in the exhibition area in Hall 13 will be entirely on electric direct heating and hot water preparation in combination with photovoltaics. The program includes presentations on technology, planning, and installation, as well as exhibits and reference projects for new and existing buildings.
Solar Solutions Düsseldorf: Hot trends and new products
The initiative aims to demonstrate to solar installers and electrical contractors how solar-electric heating technology can open up new revenue streams. The combination of photovoltaics, battery storage, and infrared heating, in particular, offers enormous opportunities: This type of heating increases the self-consumption of solar power, reduces external energy demand, and makes dynamic electricity tariffs attractive.
Solar Solutions Düsseldorf: High expectations from exhibitors
“With infrared heaters, installers can offer their customers a complete, affordable electricity and heating solution,” says Lars Keussen, Chairman of the German Infrared Association (IG Infrarot Deutschland eV). “The devices can be easily connected to existing electrical wiring – almost as simply as light fixtures. This lowers the barrier to entry and opens up new business opportunities in the growing electric heating market.”

IR heaters, direct surface heating and hot waterThe focus of the heating initiative is on infrared heating systems, which differ from other direct electric heating systems due to their high proportion of radiant heat. They are increasingly establishing themselves as the sole heating system in well-insulated buildings and are also convincing in hybrid operation, for example as a supplement to a heat pump or gas heating system.
Lucht LHZ expands production of electric heating systems
Besides the high level of comfort provided by radiant heat, they impress with their low purchase costs, freeing up budget for a photovoltaic system. Furthermore, electric surface heating systems with controllable storage ceramics or high-performance screw-in heating elements are available. They utilize solar power or dynamic off-peak tariffs to produce hot water cheaply and cleanly.
