Building on the foundation of the TG267 and TG297, Flir's TG268 and TG298 thermal imaging cameras are lightweight, portable tools for condition monitoring in electrical, building maintenance, industrial, automotive, and HVAC applications, with some key improvements over their predecessors.

Improvements made by FLIR include wider temperature ranges to cover even more applications, improved thermal image resolution, and larger data storage. FLIR is also introducing a condition monitoring function in the camera and integration with its Meterlink app for file transfer to mobile devices.
The model TG268
The FLIR TG268 spot infrared thermal imaging camera allows users to see and assess hot and cold spots over a wider area, unlike the limitations of single-point IR thermometers. This innovative thermal imaging camera is ideal for the needs of electrical, building maintenance, automotive, and HVAC applications. It reduces diagnostic time through targeted temperature detection (with bullseye laser capability) while simplifying repair and maintenance reporting.
With its rugged industrial design, the camera is designed for use in harsh environments and features an IP54 rating, a bright LED illuminator, a Type-K thermal probe, and easily withstands a 2-meter drop test. The short startup time of approximately 6 seconds ensures that everything from electrical connections to mechanical defects can be inspected quickly and accurately. With the TG268, users can:
Measure precise temperatures in a measuring range from -25°C to 400°C (752°F) with a measuring spot ratio of 24:1 and a bullseye laser pointer,
upscale and improve the detail of the thermal images with Super Resolution to 320×240 pixels (best performance in this class),
Diagnose problems faster with FLIR's patented MSX (Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging) image enhancement feature. MSX integrates details from the visible light spectrum into thermal images, providing users with more information to accurately locate potential faults and resolve them.
Use the Meterlink app (with Ignite Sync) to monitor measurements remotely (from a safe distance), document inspection data for on-site reports, and share those reports. The app provides a live view of measurement data from up to seven paired devices.
The TG298 – thermal imaging camera for high temperatures
The FLIR TG298 is an industrial thermographic camera that provides accurate temperature measurements up to 1080°C (1976°F) with a 30:1 spot ratio and a bullseye laser pointer. Applications include temperature measurement and remote monitoring of high-temperature applications such as glass furnaces, kilns, and forges, as well as manufacturing applications.
The high-temperature model TG298 offers the same benefits and features as the TG268. The camera allows users to easily monitor and predict problems through its onboard temperature trend analysis, logging, and alarms (now including audible alarms).
" Whether they're inspecting electrical or mechanical systems, monitoring equipment for signs of wear, ensuring energy efficiency during building inspections, or conducting process manufacturing or quality assurance testing, our new TG268 and TG298 thermal imaging cameras bring users additional accuracy, speed, ease of use, and clarity to their processes, " explains Linda Haals , Product Manager at Flir. " Depending on the application, they can benefit from the Type-K thermocouple probe of our TG268 or the high-temperature range of our TG298. Temperature monitoring has never been easier or faster ."
Included accessories for both models include a tether, a carrying case, and a USB Type-C cable. Learn more about the Flir TG268 and Flir TG298 by following the links below.
