Hombourg-Haut. 10 hectares of spruce trees affected by bark beetles being felled at Papiermühle

The City, in conjunction with the ONF (National Forestry Office), has decided to launch a tree-felling operation at Papiermühle. The trees are primarily spruce, eaten away by bark beetles and in danger of falling. The felling work has just begun and is expected to last two to three months. This involves 10 hectares spread across four plots. Other species will be replanted shortly thereafter.

A tree-cutting program has been launched at Papiermühle by the ONF (National Forestry Office), in conjunction with the City and Solène Hillebrand, a municipal councilor dedicated in particular to communal forests. It concerns around ten hectares divided into four plots, targeting spruce trees, affected by bark beetle invasions .
