Moselle. Saint-Avold region: torrential rain and flooding keep firefighters busy all night

Faced with the torrential rain that hit the Moselle-Est region last night, firefighters from Saint-Avold and Faulquemont were mobilized for several dozen interventions. This morning, Tuesday, September 9, they are still mobilized in various locations. Valmont, Bambiderstroff, Faulquemont, Folschviller, Laning, Lixing-lès-Saint-Avold, and Saint-Avold were particularly affected by rising water levels.
By 8 a.m., there had been more than 70 interventions during the night. These took place in two stages: between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., before experiencing a slight lull and starting up again with the return of rain around 5 a.m.
The Creutzwald fire brigade reported around forty interventions during the night, including 25 in the commune of Creutzwald alone.
