Thunderstorms and rain-flooding: three departments placed on orange alert

Three departments in the south of France were placed on orange alert for “storms” and “rain-flooding” this Tuesday, August 19, by Météo-France.
After the heatwave , bad weather. Three southern departments have been placed on orange alert for "thunderstorms" and "rain-flooding" this Tuesday from 4 p.m. by Météo-France. Gard, Hérault, and Lozère are thus expecting severe disruptions.
"A rainstorm episode is developing from the southwest to the center-east, as well as in the Mediterranean regions and Corsica. The expected rainfall accumulations could be significant locally in a short period of time. An extension of the orange alert is not completely excluded in certain departments in a southeastern quarter of the country and in Corsica," specifies the national meteorological and climate service.
