Cogeneration has saved millions of zlotys thanks to lower costs of purchasing CO2 emission allowances

Kogeneracja estimates consolidated net sales revenues at around PLN 880 million, and net profit at PLN 127 million. At the time, EBITDA is estimated at PLN 211 million. Capital expenditures in Q1 amounted to around PLN 48 million.
Electricity sales amounted to 864 GWh (including the dominant entity’s 494 GWh), while heat sales amounted to 4.35 TJ (including the dominant entity’s 3.82 TJ).
As stated in the announcement, consolidated revenues from heat sales increased in Q1 2025 by PLN 17 million, i.e. by 4 percent, and amounted to PLN 438 million. Revenues from energy sales were lower by 3 percent and amounted to PLN 396 million.
A significant element influencing the results was the increase in costs by PLN 118 million, due to the increase in the prices of gas purchased for Zielona Góra CHP, under the new gas fuel supply agreement concluded on 1 July 2024.
At the same time, the cost of the provision for the purchase of carbon dioxide emission allowances decreased by PLN 85 million, or 32 percent, due to lower purchase prices of allowances.
The company's main shareholder is PGE Energia Ciepła (58.07%). Kogeneracja has been listed on the stock exchange since May 2000.
