Russia is increasingly dependent on China

- In the case of coal, sales will be slightly lower, in the case of gas they will definitely be higher, because we are achieving contractual obligations related to the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. We also expect higher LNG sales. In total, in terms of energy resources in equivalent, sales will be higher - said the politician.

According to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, LNG deliveries from Russia to China in the first two months of 2025 amounted to 959 thousand tons, compared to 933 thousand tons in the same period in 2024.

However, according to experts, imports of liquefied fuel from Russia via China will grow at a rapid pace.

This is a consequence of the trade war between China and the US, sparked by Washington's astronomical tariffs on America. In retaliation, Beijing is abandoning American goods, including LNG.

Experts point to the growing energy cooperation between the two countries. China is a key customer for Moscow for oil and natural gas .
