Brazil's airports have high approval ratings, according to survey

Study interviewed more than 25 thousand people; average score was 4.44 on a scale of 1 to 5, considering 17 indicators

The most recent survey conducted by the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Ports and Airports, indicates a high level of approval among users regarding the level of satisfaction with services at the country's airports. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being "very bad" and 5 being "very good", the overall evaluation index was 4.44, consolidating the public's good perception of the infrastructure of Brazilian terminals. The evaluation considers 17 performance indicators, such as accessibility, cleanliness, check-in, security inspection, baggage claim, among others. The result refers to the period from January to March of this year.

Among the airports with the highest traffic, with over 10 million passengers in 2024, Brasília appears as the leader in the overall satisfaction category, with a score of 4.54, followed by Congonhas (4.51) and Guarulhos (4.49). Galeão (4.31) and Campinas (4.40) also feature among those with the highest ratings.

In the intermediate range, between 5 and 10 million passengers, the airports of Curitiba (4.42), Fortaleza (4.41) and Recife (4.40) stood out for their positive performance. Among the smaller terminals, with up to 5 million passengers, Florianópolis (4.08), Maceió (4.06) and Vitória (4.06) obtained the best scores.

For the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, the numbers reflect the government's commitment to the population. “The results of the survey show that we are making progress in the quality of airports. We are working to ensure a safe and efficient experience for all passengers,” he highlighted.

Tomé Franca, National Secretary of Aviation, pointed out that passenger satisfaction proves the progress in airport management. “The Federal Government is committed to continuing to improve services to maintain high standards of quality and comfort at our airports. We are ensuring greater comfort and well-being for users,” he emphasized.

Methodology

The survey involved approximately 8,000 monthly interviews distributed proportionally among the airports according to the flow of passengers. The survey showed a positive outlook regarding the experience of travelers at the main Brazilian airports. Between January and March of this year, 25,829 interviews were conducted in person.
