The National Secretary for Waterways and Navigation of the Ministry of Ports, Dino Antunes, will leave his post. He announced his departure on Wednesday night (29), during the 1st edition of the Navegue + Brasil Award, promoted by the government.
Following the announcement, he was honored by the Brazil Export Group, a partner of the event, for his services to the country while he was in charge of the ministry. Dino, who led the secretariat for a year and a half, will leave office on Friday, October 31st.
He told the BE News team that 2025 was a positive year for the waterway sector, with an increase in the Brazilian fleet, cabotage, and inland navigation. Dino also acknowledged that the segment faces challenges, but the companies, in his words, "are, on a daily basis, fighting and managing to make the sector advance and achieve victories."
He then emphasized the importance of Wednesday's awards ceremony. "It's fundamental that we reward these achievements. We can't award all the companies, but we can single out some of them, showing that the sector is thriving, has much room to grow, and is made up of people who work hard for the good of Brazil," Dino concluded.
