Port of Porto Velho opens selection process for temporary lease of Area 10

The 6,000 m² space is located in front of the floating pier and can be occupied for up to one year, until the final bidding process.
The Rondônia state government published on Monday (1st) the notice that opens a simplified selection process for the temporary lease of Area 10 of the Port of Porto Velho, in Rondônia. The space, measuring 6,054 square meters, is located in front of the floating dock, considered a strategic point for logistics operations.
Proposals may be submitted until September 30th to [email protected] . Legally constituted national or foreign legal entities may participate, provided they meet the legal, tax, technical, and economic-financial requirements. The notice prohibits participation in consortia.
According to the notice, the selection process will consider criteria such as the largest estimated throughput, the highest concession fee, and the potential for generating tariff revenue. The lessee must demonstrate cargo availability to move at least 2,000 tons per month, in addition to offering a fixed monthly lease price and a variable installment tied to the volume operated.
The contract will be valid for up to one year or until the final bidding process for the area is completed. According to Governor Marcos Rocha, the initiative contributes to increasing cargo movement and strengthening the state's port infrastructure. For Fernando Parente, CEO of the Rondônia State Ports and Waterways Society (Soph), the transitional model represents "a quick and efficient solution," offering companies the opportunity to gain logistical traction in Rondônia.
The notice also states that the minimum fixed monthly rental value is R$17,073.43, subject to adjustment based on the IPCA (Brazilian Consumer Price Index). Furthermore, the occupancy must comply with the zoning regulations of the Port of Porto Velho, which is primarily for general cargo.
The process follows Resolution No. 127/2025 of the National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq), which regulates transition contracts in port areas, in accordance with the Porto Velho Port Development and Zoning Plan. The notice and its annexes are available on the Soph website.
