Ports of Paraná issue warning of cyclone passing through Paranaguá

Passage of extratropical cyclone may cause heavy rains and wind gusts on the Paraná coast this Saturday (8)
The Ports of Paraná issued a statement this Friday (7) to warn of the passage of an extratropical cyclone on the Paraná coast expected to occur this Saturday (8). According to data from Simport (waterway traffic monitoring system and meteoceanographic data), heavy rains and wind gusts exceeding 46 kilometers per hour may occur.
In a statement, the Port Authority that manages the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina advises that, in cases of storms or adverse conditions, employees should avoid hazardous areas. At any sign of danger, the employee must immediately leave the port area.
The Port Authority of Paraná highlighted several preventive measures to be taken both on land and at sea, including: reinforcing ship anchorages with machinery ready for emergency maneuvers; reinforcing mooring lines on docked ships; having tugboats on standby for emergencies; having terminals and mooring teams on standby; securing port equipment (cranes, shiploaders, etc.); and paying attention to and securing vessels with large sail areas.
