The disruption or blocking of Gunvor's acquisition of LUKOIL's foreign assets will result in fuel supply disruptions and job losses in Europe, according to Gunvor CEO.
Gunvor CEO Torbjörn Törnqvist spoke about this in an interview with The Financial Times.
"LUKOIL's entire international operations are paralyzed. No one can transact with them. Numerous jobs are at stake, and refining operations could be severely disrupted," he said.
The head of Gunvor emphasized that the deal will only take place with the approval of the authorities of the countries where it operates and the United States.
"The first priority is to secure an extension of the general operating license. The scale of this transaction requires regulatory approval. It cannot be completed in two weeks," added Torbjörn Törnqvist.
