TNF Forum and Upright Conduct First Large-Scale Study of the Oil and Gas Labor Market

The TNF Industrial and Energy Forum, together with the consulting company Upright, launched the first large-scale study of the labor market in the history of the Russian oil and gas industry, according to a TNF report.

The presentation of the document will take place on the sidelines of TNF 2025, from September 15 to 18 in Tyumen.

The study covers basic employment parameters - the number of employees, age and professional structure, salary levels, the level of personnel shortages and the specifics of the flow of specialists between regions and related economic clusters. The authors of the study will also present a forecast of demand for specific professions in the key oil and gas regions of the country based on big data analysis.

Particular attention will be paid to assessing the criteria for the attractiveness of the oil and gas industry for professionals, including young people. The document will include a typical career track for a young specialist with data on the rate of growth of his income and the main reasons for changing jobs.

The experts will also rank universities and colleges based on the degree of “survival” of graduates in the industry and rank regions based on the quality of working conditions and wage levels.

The map will cover all federal districts and will become the foundation for creating a single ecosystem, allowing companies to more accurately plan their HR policies, the state to create support programs, and universities and colleges to train personnel in relevant specialties. The study will help identify areas with needs for educational infrastructure and create incentives to attract new specialists to the industry.
