ROSATOM Introduced Its Technologies at NPPES-2025

The Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation ROSATOM took part in the VII. International Nuclear Industry Fair and XI. Nuclear Power Plants Summit NPPES-2025 event held in Istanbul . Rosatom's innovative projects and global vision came to the fore at the fair, where special events were held to mark the 80th anniversary of the nuclear energy sector in Russia.

Speaking at the ROSATOM NPPES-2025 event , AKKUYU NUCLEAR INC. Chairman of the Board of Directors Anton Dedusenko stated that the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is a strong example of international cooperation and energy security . Dedusenko emphasized that the project is progressing not only with energy production, but also with the understanding of technological sharing and common development .

Akkuyu Nuclear Inc. Director Esra Songur stated that the project made significant contributions to the Turkish economy with its multiplier effect and provided the country with institutional knowledge in the field of nuclear energy . Songur said, “This project provides great opportunities for Turkey to establish its own nuclear energy infrastructure .”

Rosatom International Business Director Boris Arseev said that Russia’s 80-year experience in the nuclear energy sector has been transformed into an ecosystem that supports not only the construction of power plants but also education, infrastructure development and scientific cooperation. “This comprehensive approach allows us to develop long-term cooperation in the field of nuclear energy with countries such as Turkey, Egypt and Bangladesh,” Arseev said.

ROSATOM NPPES-2025 also stands out as the only practical implementer of small modular reactor (SMR) technologies in the world. The floating nuclear power plant named “Akademik Lomonosov” has been operating for 5 years and produces 1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. In addition, RITM-200 reactors are in the serial production phase with a capacity of 55 MW. While a new SMR power plant is being built in Yakutia , an export contract for the SMR project was signed in Uzbekistan .

Rosatom uses nuclear technologies not only in energy production, but also in nuclear medicine , agricultural therapies and research centers . It develops collaborations in these areas, especially in Central Asia , the Middle East and Turkey , and offers effective solutions in areas other than energy use .

Rosatom has prepared a special stand at the fair for the 80th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry . Visitors were introduced to large and small-scale nuclear power plants, digital nuclear technologies , research reactors and high-tech logistics solutions . In addition, representatives of Akkuyu NPP provided information about the latest status of the plant.

The quiz organized at the event aimed to increase nuclear energy awareness and introduce participants to new generation nuclear solutions .
