TREDAŞ Makes the Power of Women in the Field Visible

TREDAŞ continues its workshops focusing on gender equality with women working in the field in the energy sector.

The workshop, which was implemented under the guidance of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Gender Equality Strategy , addressed the experiences of women working in the field in the context of health and safety, the challenges they face, their needs and suggested solutions.

Trakya Electricity Distribution Inc. (TREDAŞ) continues its activities to make visible and support the experiences of women working in the field. The title of the second workshop, organized in collaboration with TREDAŞ and IC İçtaş Trakya Energy Investments and Trade Inc., was "Being a Woman in the Field in Terms of Health and Safety." Participants in the workshop discussed their experiences with health and safety conditions in the field, the challenges they faced, their needs, and proposed solutions, creating a shared awareness platform. Implemented under the guidance of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Gender Equality Strategy, the initiative aims to make women's contributions in the field visible, strengthen institutional commitment, and shift occupational safety standards to a more inclusive framework.

As part of the workshop, women designed posters themed "Being a Woman in the Field" and shared their concrete solutions. These posters, reflecting the women employees' own designs, are expected to be displayed at construction sites and in village coffeehouses, raising awareness both within the organization and throughout society.

TREDAŞ also gifted health kits to strengthen the physical and psychosocial support provided to female field workers. These kits, comprised of personal care and hygiene products, were designed to meet the workers' daily needs, while the natural cloth bags containing the kits were sewn by members of the Süleymanpaşa Women's Labor Cooperative (SEMEK). This initiative, aimed at female workers, aimed to make women's labor visible at every stage.

Prioritizing social impact projects alongside technical investments, TREDAŞ continues to pioneer an egalitarian transformation in the energy sector with its practices that increase inclusiveness.
