YEKA competition schedule for solar and wind has been announced.

Energy Diary - The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has published competition announcements for solar and wind power plants totaling 2,000 MWe within the scope of the Renewable Energy Resource Areas (YEKA). According to the announcements, two separate competition processes will be conducted: 850 MWe solar power and 1,150 MWe wind power.

850 MW YEKA COMPETITION IN SOLAR

The solar energy competitions, to be organized under the name YEKA GES-2025, aim to allocate a total connection capacity of 850 MWe. Ten competitions will be held within this scope. The competitions will be held in Bolu (50 MWe), Elazığ (50 MWe), Erzurum (335 MWe in total), Eskişehir (260 MWe), Kahramanmaraş (40 MWe), Mardin (40 MWe), Van (40 MWe), and Demirköprü (35 MWe Floating Solar Power Plant). Applications for the solar energy competitions must be hand-delivered to the Ministry's headquarters in Ankara between 10:00 and 12:00 on November 4, 2025.

1150 MW CAPACITY ALLOCATION IN WIND

The wind energy competitions, to be held under the name YEKA RES-2025, cover a total connection capacity of 1,150 MWe. Six separate competitions will be held for the allocation of this capacity. The competitions will be held in Sivas (500 MWe), Balıkesir (390 MWe total), Aydın-Denizli (140 MWe), and Kütahya (120 MWe). Applications for the wind energy competitions must be submitted in person at the same address on November 18, 2025, between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND GUARANTEE FEES

Joint-stock companies, limited companies, joint ventures, and foreign companies with capital company status established under the Turkish Commercial Code are eligible to apply for both competitions. Companies wishing to participate in the competitions must deposit a specification fee of 75,000 Turkish Lira for each application into the Ministry's account at the Central Bank.

The one-year guarantee letter to be submitted during the application phase is €15,000 per megawatt for solar energy and €20,000 per megawatt for wind energy. Winning companies will submit a new 10-year guarantee letter before signing the contract. This amount will increase to €75,000 per megawatt for solar and €100,000 per megawatt for wind energy.

The ceiling price was set at 5.50 euro cents/kwh.

The starting ceiling price for all competitions has been announced as 5.50 euro cents per kilowatt-hour. The floor price will be 3.25 euro cents per kWh for solar and 3.50 euro cents per kWh for wind. The winning companies will sell the electricity they generate on the free market for 60 months for solar and 72 months for wind, starting from the contract signing date. A 20-year electricity purchase period will begin after this period.
