MNRE minister Pralhad Joshi to deliver ministerial address at ET Energy Leadership Summit 2025
The minister’s keynote is expected to set the tone for urgency—balancing scale, speed, and sustainability.New Delhi: India’s clean energy push is entering its next phase. At the ET Energy Leadership Summit & Awards 2025, the Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi is set to deliver the ministerial address on September 24, underlining recent achievements, challenges, and the road ahead. The timing is critical. As of August 31, 2025, India’s installed renewable energy (RE) capacity—excluding large hydro—stands at about 192,517 MW, with solar contributing ~123,130 MW and wind over 52,680 MW. These numbers reflect strong momentum, but also underline the scale of change required to hit the 500 GW non-fossil target by 2030.More so, India now ranks third in solar power generation globally, having produced over 1,08,494 GWh of solar energy in the latest period—surpassing Japan in output. Meanwhile, Gujarat has recently raised its RE capacity by roughly 6,632 MW in just five months, thanks to large solar parks and hybrid solar-wind projects. In the ministerial address, policymakers will likely announce new bids and policies to boost domestic manufacturing (modules, inverters, battery cells), strengthen energy storage deployment, and support more aggressive rooftop solar in urban and rural settings. Investors will be watching for clarity on incentives, import duties, and grid integration rules. The summit will also showcase India Inc.’s role in financing and implementing RE, bringing together global CEOs, state energy ministers, and innovators. The minister’s keynote is expected to set the tone for urgency—balancing scale, speed, and sustainability.
