Antaq's new general director, Frederico Dias, highlights dialogue and speed

Frederico Dias took over the seat left by Eduardo Nery this Tuesday (16)
The new general director of the National Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ), Frederico Dias, was sworn in this Tuesday (16) and, in his speech, among other topics, highlighted sustainable development, dialogue – with the regulated sector and civil servants – and speed.
He committed to advancing five main areas over the next five years: maintaining an open, calm, and professional dialogue with all of the Agency's stakeholders; strengthening ANTAQ's leading role in harmonizing conflicts and resolving problems quickly and through dialogue; reinforcing regulatory certainty, predictability, and the removal of bureaucratic obstacles; preserving the soundness of the decision-making process, the technical element, professionalism, and knowledge-based decision-making; and consolidating ANTAQ as an increasingly relevant institution in the economic and institutional dynamics, with effectiveness, efficiency, integrity, and transparency.
Furthermore, he pointed out that increasing port efficiency, stimulating inland navigation, advancing the sustainability agenda, improving multimodality, and responsibly exploring opportunities for technological innovation applied to regulation are the challenges to be faced.
"Water transportation is a driver of competitiveness, logistical integration, and regional development. The country depends on efficient ports, structured waterways, and navigation services that meet the population's needs with quality," Dias stated.
He concluded by emphasizing that ANTAQ's mission is to "promote the sustainable development of the waterway sector for the benefit of Brazilian society. It is our responsibility to ensure a balanced regulatory environment that encourages investment, strengthens competitiveness, and helps reduce the country's logistics costs."
