Expansion of air transport in Bahia will be the topic at Bahia Export

Forum will bring together experts to discuss connectivity and infrastructure, following the announcement of construction projects at three regional airports

"The challenges of expanding passenger transportation in the state of Bahia." This is the theme of one of the panels to be held during the Bahia Export forum in Salvador. The meeting, which is part of the Brasil Export Group's calendar of initiatives for the second consecutive year, is scheduled for the 14th and 15th, bringing together experts and industry representatives to discuss strategies to expand connectivity and improve the quality of air services in the state.

The discussion comes at a time of progress for Bahia's airport infrastructure. Last week, the Federal Government launched the AmpliAR program – Private Investment Program in Regional Airports, which, in its first phase, will cover three airports in the state: Guanambi, Lençóis, and Paulo Afonso. The initiative aims to modernize infrastructure and attract new flights, strengthening tourism and regional transportation.

These investments are expected to help reduce logistical bottlenecks and attract new routes, integrating economic and tourism hubs that currently rely primarily on road transportation. Improved infrastructure should also benefit general aviation, expanding business opportunities and access to strategic inland regions.

The panel, which will be held on the 14th, will be moderated by Núria Bianco, director of Market Intelligence at Grupo Brasil Export, and will feature the participation of Tiago Tosto (partner at Abaeté Aviação), Wanderley Galhiego Jr. (director of Institutional Relations at Socicam), Júlio Ribas (CEO of Vinci Airports in Brazil) and Adriano Miranda (acting CEO of the National Civil Aviation Agency – Anac).
