A man who shot a blue sailfish in Bodrum had his harpoon confiscated and was fined.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry reported that a sailfish shot in Bodrum Harbour escaped from an underwater rifle, and that the fishing gear of the person involved was confiscated and a fine was imposed.
The Ministry's NSosyal account released the following statement regarding the images of the endangered fish being shot, which were shared on social media:
Footage of a rare sailfish being shot with an underwater rifle by an amateur fisherman in Bodrum Harbor was shared on social media. As a result of coordinated work by our Ministry teams and the Coast Guard Command, it was determined that the fish escaped the underwater rifle. The individual involved was identified, his fishing gear was confiscated, and he was fined.
