RWE Turcas Launches 20 MWp Solar Power Plant Project at Denizli Natural Gas Power Plant

RWE Turcas Güney Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. is implementing a significant transformation project at the Denizli Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant . The company has signed the EPC contract for the 20 MWp solar power plant project in collaboration with Sega Solar .
RWE Generation Gas Director Taco Duma and RTG CEO/CTO Gerrit Schacht attended the signing ceremony. The project is considered the first concrete step toward the company's goal of transitioning to a hybrid model in energy production.
The new solar power plant , to be built within the Denizli natural gas combined cycle power plant , will be directly connected to the plant's internal consumption point. This will meet the plant's own energy needs from the sun and contribute to its overall production capacity.
The new hybrid system will increase both energy security and operational flexibility while also making a significant contribution to environmental sustainability .
RWE Turcas officials emphasized that the project decision is part of the company's long-term decarbonization and green transformation strategies.

Gökhan Güven, Power Plant Manager at RWE Turcas Güney Elektrik Üretim A.Ş., commented on the project: “We are pleased to announce that we have signed the EPC contract with Sega Solar for this 20 MWp PV project. This project will both meet our facility's internal energy needs and contribute to our overall production. With the transition to a hybrid model, we are increasing energy security and supporting environmental sustainability. We thank all our team members who contributed to the project's implementation.”
